The Challenge
Lidding is frequently used as a closure on plastic or aluminum cups or bowls for products such as yogurt, soups, cookies, meats, cheeses, single-serve cereal and many other food products. It is also used on packaging for such non-food products.
Lids play an important role in protecting the product contents as well as promoting brand recognition.
Our challenge is to provide a cost-effective lidding film, featuring the desired barrier properties, the perfect level of sealing combined with very high print / printability.
Technology
Lidding is frequently a laminated construction that may include foil, paper, polyester, polypropylene, PET and other metalized or non-metalized films. The base of every lidding film is the sealing layer. The sealing layer is responsible to provide the right sealing – peelable, lock-seal or self-seal.
Our lidding products are especially engineered to seal to a large variety of surfaces at the optimal sealing level.
Our Products
TopCast™ are proprietary co-extruded multi-layered lidding films (Top Web) composed of a Cast Polypropylene laminated to PET (regular PET or EVOH coated for higher barrier) which are engineered to seal to a large variety of trays, cups and other such surfaces. The sealing is custom-designed to vary from easy peel to lock seal depending on the requirements of the application.
The TopCast™ series is also offered as a sealing layers solely, intended to be laminated to the full lid construction by a converter.
TopCast™24 and TopCast™24E are designed for self-seal, making them ideal for bags and pouches made on FFS (Form Fill & Seal) lines. Sealant layer films for lamination are also available.
All TopCast™ products are EU and FDA approved for direct food contact.
